Thinking Spring
Since this will mark our first post of 2015, Happy New Year to you all! Hope 2015 is off to a great start for everyone! With the warmer weather the past few days, spring has been on my mind. Spring is probably my favorite season. I look forward to the flowers blooming starting in March to break the monotony of winter. Today, I thought I would share with you a little spring beauty to inspire you!

For The Love Of Cake
One of the things I look forward to when I'm invited to a wedding is the cake! Admittedly, I love cake. That being said, some cakes are better than others. This week, I wanted to share with you some cakes that are not only gorgeous, but they taste good as well. All these cakes come from local bakeries with amazing reputations for making wonderful weddings cakes.
These cakes from Let Them Eat Cake in Valley Junction at 405 Maple in West Des Moines are amazing. Vicente makes beautifully, delicious cakes. It was difficult to only choose a few examples! More examples can be found on their Facebook page as well as their website.
These next cakes come from Carefree Patisserie, which is also located at in Valley Junction at 304 5th St. in West Des Moines. Next time you are in Valley Junction, don't forget to stop out and taste some of their other delicious treats as well.

These next few cakes from Roseland Bakery are delicious works of art! They look too good to eat! Roseland Bakery is located in Urbandale and can be found on Facebook or on their website.

The patterns on this cake are amazing, while the
small floral touches add a pop of color.
The bows on this cake are so elegant.
Simple sophistication with a feminine touch!
The final cake examples come from Glorious Desserts LLC in Des Moines. Again, it was difficult to pick only three examples as their website is filled with examples of beyond amazing cakes!

summer love
with summer underway, that means wedding season has also started, or should we say has picked up speed since it is almost june already!
we have been keeping track of some of our favorite designers and their new lines that we are finally starting to see on brides - especially sareh nouri's bridal collection. it's all about romance and feminine details - very ethereal. (we are also noticing a trend of amazing statement jewelry that brides are customizing for their wedding day looks and then wearing again. who doesn't love that?!)
